Dr. Dipty Acharya

If Dr. Fretz decided to go on vacation for a few months, who would she select to fill her shoes, sit in her chair, and care for her patients? The time has come and we now know that the person Dr. Fretz has entrusted to take lead and care for her patients is Dr. Dipty Acharya. Dr. Acharya attended the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. and graduated in May of 2009 with her degree as a Doctor of Optometry.
Dr. Acharya has always been interested in Binocular Vision treatment, as well as Vision Therapy, and has been practicing in Binocular Vision since her graduation. She is in good standing as a member of OEP (Optometric Extension Program) and COVT&R (Canadian Optometrists in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation). She is also working towards achieving her FCOVD (Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development). Dr. Acharya has continued her education since her graduation in 2009 as well, completing a Syntonics course, a course on Van Orden Stars, and the OEP Arts and Science course. She plans on taking and finishing the Vision Therapy courses for Visual Dysfunctions, Learning Related Vision Problems, Strabismus and Amblyopia, and Acquired/Traumatic Brain Injury in the upcoming year, as well as continuing to stay up to date on any course pertaining to Vision Therapy.
Dr. Acharya is a loving mother of two, and presently lives in Guelph. Since returning from her maternity leave, Dr. Fretz and Dr. Acharya have been working closely together, and it is with every confidence that Dr. Fretz places the patients that she cares for so deeply for into the care and devotion of Dr. Acharya. Dr. Acharya is extremely compassionate, and is one of the first people to lend assistance to those in need. She is deeply devoted to her patients, and always gives each patient as much time as necessary to ensure they are completely aware and able to totally understand any questions or concerns they have regarding their eye exams.
